ROZSA 110

Rules for working in the Scene Shop
- To work in the scene shop, you should first be familiar with all of the requirements. You must have gone through Safety and Shop Orientation and you must have signed a user’s agreement. You must have also gone through training for any of the tools you want to use.
- The Scene Shop is available for students enrolled in either an approved VPA class or Practicum, or working on a current production. Unfortunately, the shop is not available for working on personal projects.
- You must be wearing the appropriate atire and PPE. NO open toed shoes are allowed.
- The scene shop supervisor is only available from 9:AM to 5:PM Monday through Friday. If you want to work outside of that time you will be limited in the tools you will be able to use, unless you are under the supervision of your instructor or the Technical Director.
- Working alone in the shop is not permitted. Consult with the scene shop supervisor to see what options you have.
Scheduling Time

To schedule work time in the scene shop, look at the Scene Shop Calendar to see if the shop will be open when you want to use it. The link can be found HERE. If you see that there is a class using the shop, you might not be able to schedule during that time. Otherwise, there should be room to share.
If you would like to propose a time to come work in the shop, look at the scene shop calendar as well as the scene shop supervisor’s calendar. Find a time that fits both, and send both the shop supervisor, and the Rozsa Scene Shop, a calendar Invite.
- You will first have to add the Scene Shop’s CALENDAR to your google calendar. There’s a little button on the lower left corner of the Shop Calendar that will help you do that.
- The Rozsa Scene Shop is not scheduled like other rooms. You will have to add it as a “Guest” (rozsa-110-sceneshop@mtu.edu)
- Check the scene shop supervisor’s calendar and see if they are available as well. Include them as a guest in the invite (mgmoore@mtu.edu)
- Please try to give least at 24 hours notice.
- If the time works, the invite will be accepted. If not, you will be contacted so alternative arrangements can be made.
- Any information you can add in the invite description will also be helpful. This could include what tools you would like to use, what project you are working on, or if you will need assistance.
If you have any questions, call or email Mat Moore (mgmoore@mtu.edu or 487-2693), or stop by his office in the Scene Shop.
